Stable MAP reading for Megajolt- 3.5+ SU's...

I am currently in the process of ridding my Rover 3.5 of its dizzy once and for all... I have all my EDIS stuff, trigger wheel etc, and Megajolt is assembled and ready to go.

So one question... Where can i take a decent mainfold air pressure (MAP) reading from?

See here for my thread on the MegaJolt support forum:

http://www.autosportlabs.org/viewtopic.php?t=2448

Can i somehow tap into the manifold near where the carbs are mounted, so that i can get a reading across all 8 cylinders in only two lines? I have read that taking the reading too close to the carb butterflies gives spurious readings because of the turbulence...

Answers on a postcard please :D

Thanks

There's some bollocks on that thread.

If you drill the 'penthouse', you'll break into the water jacket!!

Best bet is to use the blanked off plug behind the drivers side carb.

PS, I've got MJLJ on my V8 with twin 2" SU's. Works very well.
Problem is my map is for 4.6 litres and I'm not sure my index is exactly right. But it's good on my engine. So my map probably isn't much use to you. Oh yes, it's a petrol map too.
