Am I right in thinking that that blower is NOT a 4-71, and is actually a 3-71? This is a pic of my 4-71 I rebuilt (on the engine for size comparison) and seems a fair bit bigger!

If I lived somewhere like California I'd have had it polished, but thought there was little point in damp old England as I would be forever trying to keep it shiny! I really like alternative finishes anyway, espec the black wrinkle paint, used it on rocker covers too and it makes everything look more "factory", (apart from the fact it sticks out the bonnet by a foot!)

hey that pic look pretty awesome is there any easy ways of polishing carbs coz ive got 3 pairs of su carbs and ive just got a four barrel which needs a lot of tlc and its look quite fiddly cheers nice engine tho i hope mine will endup like that 8-)

dont go for old truck superchargers the parasitic loss is high, here is mine running at 12.5 psi on a 7 LTR as you can see it is tiny also those 4/71 get very high when you start to intercool them
