So, on my 3.5 i have an P6 type "round" airbox like so:

This uses a round paper filter at each end- the Land-Rover sites all seem to sell this type of element, which frankly is a bit pants.

I recently had my first LPG backfire on the way to Hemel Hempstead to see my brother (something always goes wrong up there- i dont think the 90 likes it much ) This destroyed one of the filters, but after trawling Hemel's motorfactors with the removable end plate of the airbox and the one good filter for comparison i was able to get a much better replacement like this:

Its an "Alco" filter- and unfortunately the guy only had one in the shop and even that looked like it had sat around for 10 years! Filter is good, but box is a bit faded:

Does anyone know where i can get more of these online/ mail order? It doesnt have to be the same brand- but anything of similar construction would be good.

Thanks in advance :D

Have you tried Rimmer Bros? I don't know if they go back far enough for the P6, but they might be worth a try.

Or I bet there's a P6 owners club.

Try an air compressor company, as they appear to be the same as used on many industrial compressors.

I would change the hose on the penthouse bleed to the radiator - the last fuel hose I saw used in this position didnt like hot coolant, delaminated and caused all sorts of problems. Needless to say it appeared fine from the outside.

"Alco" has the same box design and lettering style as Ryco filters we get here.
