Lucas Alternator - connection query...

I've just rec'd a replacement alternator for my MGB GT V8 - but it's a Lucas (Lucas LRB128) rather than the factory-spec AC Delco I have fitted currently. The problem is, the AC Delco only has one connection - a big brown cable, but the Lucas alternator has 3 terminals : B+ is clearly the battery feed, and I believe the one marked W is a tacho feed (so I plan to ignore it) but does anybody know what the one marked D+ is for, and more importantly do I need to do something with it or can I ignore this one too
