Exhaust system for mk2 cortina

Anyone know the easiest/best way or place to get an exhaust for mk2 cortina with rv8 in?
I have headers but the rest is real s**t!
Also do i need to run a balance pipe/y piece if i have a holley carb/offy inlet?

You always need a balance pipe or y-piece on a dual-plane V8 (which the RV8 is).
I've always just cut & shut Range Rover exhaust bits along with Jetex universal parts. Not cheap, but works.

I would disagree that you "always" need the balance pipe- My engine has a lovely flat torque curve and uses 2 separate 4 to 1's - I would say that the primary diameter is of far greater importance than a balance pipe - but if you have the room then it cant do any harm.

True. You don't 'always' need it. But for low noise and efficiency you do as the exhaust pulses are not even on a per cylinder-bank basis.
What you really need is the end two from one bank 4-1'd with the inner two from the other bank. Of course that's a plumbing nightmare unless you're building a GT40 when it's easy and exactly what they do.

or you can get a northstar engine from the US, and swap the heads over from bank to bank to put the exhaust in the valley... go to Hybridz.org

I like the Northstar, Im trying to get one started at the moment, Ive had it running but the owner has decided to re wire the Holley injection since it ran last and I am a little lost,
it is defying me at the moment, I have spark, and pulse at the injectors, fuel in the rail, but it wont fuel the engine, changing the pump, as the book says 55psi, and its delivering inly 35psi, I am wondering if he has run the pump dry at any time.
Sorry for the Hijack, Mk2 pipes, I run mine as a single 2,5" system joining together just behind the gearbox X member, running partially up the prop tunnel for ground clearance, then up and over the axle into a single flowmaster between the tank and spare wheel well, its all aswaged system and clamped together so there is no or very little welding involved
