depends what your after, i know 4.6 2nd hand engines fetch up to £1000.

they look real quality items, come all built up and delivery is rapid, depends what your wanting really for a garage fitting a replacement engine its a dream.

Dave,
Cosidering that a bare Coscast block is £1150 from TVR then if you can buy a new half engine for the start price RPI asked then I would say it's a very good deal.
The casting quality of the blocks is far superior to anything Rover produced and the price has been dropped by £600.00

I've been told that it has the word "coscast" on the side of the block - cant see it in your photos?

That is a cos block Eliot, the valley drain back area is the easiest clue.

if you read the auction it says they are cast by mahla? did them mean mahle?

I asked Chris Crane and he said:
"Cos-cast is stamped on on side of the block and is very easy to see just above the line of the sump"
I wanted to know because I'm looking at p38's and wanted to know how to identify a coscast block.

The cos logo is cast into the block, I lifted this pic from RPI's ebay auction, i'm sure chris won't mind! Perhaps this logo is only cast into the righthand side of the block?
