Quick spec on the Ginetta G27
I am still collecting information on this car as its a bit of an odd ball G27 wise
The information I have at the moment is that it was one of only 3 cars built to this particular specification by the factory in the mid 90's and its basically a Ginetta G27 fitted with the running gear from a G33 - So its Ginetta hubs and suspension based around a Sierra diff - Most other G27's being live axle and Triumph suspension derived or a Jag diff IRS system and Triumph.
It was originally built with a 3.5LV8 from a TVR which was removed in 2000 and the previous owner then appears - by the bills with the car - to spend a vast amount of money with DJ Ellis to build a Stage 2 4.0L 250BHP spec engine
Bills found include
Holley 390 - modified
Wildcat inlet
Stage 2 heads
DJE 220 cam
ARP top and bottom
Crower lifters
Adjustable push rods
Sports Steel flywheel
AP Brown clutch
ARP fly bolts
Baffled trap door sump
Nitride and micro polish crank
Full balance
Shot peened rods balanced
+20 bore and pistons
Line hone
Block decked
Additional comb chamber work to blend to bores
Steel timing chain
Exhausts are bespoke tubular 4-1's
Remote oil filter
Rebuilt Lt77 - which I have just polybushed the remote on
Brakes are adjustable balance bar assembly feeding Cosworth vent discs and 4 pots - rears are vented Cosworth with Greenstuff pads
Wheels are 17x8 Compomitive Mo's rear 16x7 front with Yokohama rubber 235/40 rear 205/40 front - although rear may be 35's
All Samco hosing on cooling and all Stainless braiding on the oil pressure lines and vents and fuel lines.
Oddly with all this spec and the Moroso 8mm leads it was running an Opus which I have now removed and fitted a re-curved late model dizzy and re-instated the Smoothcut visicale rev limiter.
Its not very pretty at the moment and its not been looked after as well as it should have been in the past but I will get some pictures up soon
