have just purchased a tvr 4ltr griff engine. The engine numbers correspond to a griff engine however is there an easy way to prove i have a compression ratio of 9.8 to 1 instead of the range rover 9.35 to 1.
Also the heads are stamped etc8622 i cant find any reference to these numbers.
Finaly is there any easy way to confirm what cam is fitted.
Thank you gents.
Shaun.

Disco 2 and P38 Range Rover heads.

Compression is set by the piston dish so without measuring them you can't tell.

As for cam again unless you can find a number then it could be anything.

Not saying that it's not a Griff engine but who told you it was a Griff engine and what proof did they supply?

They arent p38 heads, they are 14 bolt, not 10.
As far as the history shows the cam hasn't been changed from standard TVR fitment.

And it is a Griff engine, I took it from MY GRIFF ! HTH
