Long choke cables

My early Rover engine has a manual choke. The problem is that in my rear-engined installation, I can't find a cable long enough to reach the cab!
Any ideas where I might get one? I reckon I need about 5 metres!!

I have used this stuff before and it is excellent- no friction at all! Ask if they can make you one a bit longer- they also come with loads of different ends etc.

Hi,
The 1.6 diesel versions of the T25 used a mechanical cold start mechanism. This was a cable exactly like a choke cable that advanced the diesel pump for easy starting . It went from the dashboard to the pump in the rear engine compartment, and would be ideal for your job.
May be worth contacting the T25 owners club, or even your local V dub garage.

Interesting - nobody on the T25 forum has come up with that one yet. There's a general parts supply issue with VW - anything over 15 years old is "obsolete" with them and hence they only supply what's left in stock. But worth looking into.

They do an accelerator cable about 14 foot long!
Sure you can modify it for a choke pull.
BUT
Do you really need it?
These things make so much heat that jiggling th accelerator for 30 seconds should mean no need for the cable

That's where I found the 11 foot one; can't find anything longer. But I don't know the engine well enough to know whether I can manage without a choke cable - my more usual experience is of A-series Minis which need the choke for 2-3 miles!
