Hello, i have a triumph TR7, its time to do something with the suspension, i already have a coil over rear shock and will do the same for the front, as for the bushes what do i use? Before i used orange poly bushes but didnt rate them at all, the option is a a set of super pro bushes, which are expensive or rose joint everything, does anybody use rose joints? The car is used for fast road and some track/pod days.
Any thoughts.

Thanks.

If your using it on the road stick to bushes. Rose joint are very harsh on the road and take a fair bit looking after if you do much mileage. Good rose joints are also expensive, I have found cheap ones start to get play in them pretty quickly. I have found really cheap ones come out the pack with play in them :(

They are really only for race cars suspension and then you might change them every few races. There is absolutely no compliance or 'give' in them.

Why do you say you were not impressed with Urathanes?
if you want to go Rose Joints, you will destroy any pleasure in driving the car on the road, the road noise is unblevable, a good friend of mine built a top quality street rod, No compromise, everything was "Racecar" inspired, totally stunning car, peice of poo to drive with rose joint suspension, went round corners like it was on rails He ended up taking off 75% of the rose joints and converted to urathane,

My rear axle is 4/5 link rose jointed.

I wish I'd used poly.

Mainly rose jointed at the rear of the GT40 and a hell of a lot of road noise

But above the noise of the engine it pales a bit!

I used poly bushes and they developed play very quickly, increased axle tramp and seemed to knock. My friend builds GT40 replicas and uses rose joints and said would work well for me but dont know much about them.

When you say Super pro do you mean SuperFlex?

I have used SuperFlex all round and get good control with very little noise.

The new bushes are made by super pro, my supplier is TR Revington, think Moss sell them aswell. The bushes i have at the moment are orange poly bushes. My dad has blus poly bushes in his TR6 and they tend to squeak over bumps.
