Ignition retard,

at a bit of a junction and dont know what to do,
im in the process of setting the v8 up to run coil packs and wasted spark,
i need to retard my ignition at a set point via the nitrous controller,
it looks like my ecu will not support a trigger input from the controller to do the above,
does MS have any sort of ignition retard feature that can be triggered from an outside source?

Sorry Tony not really related- but if you are running MS why did you get an interim front cover?

im running vems not ms mate,
reason being cam choice,
my duplex timing gears,
and if the coil packs or ecu dies can always go back to stock ecu and dizzy.

Megajolt has two maps, settable by an external input (e.g. switch, power to nitrous controller etc).

will mega jolt retard if it gets a negative trigger input say from the nitrous controller?

You would have to have the 2nd map as an entire map, which is retarded relative to the main map.
The MJ uses one map with 0V on the 'option' input, and the other map if you have 12V on the input. How you derive this 0/12V input is up to you....

im hoping vems come up with something,
but no joy so far
thus why was asking about the megajolt etc.

I think the latest VEMS firmware has 2 switchable maps in a similar way as megajolt. It would probably be easier to do this than to start over with the electronics...
I've not had the Griff on the road for nearly 3 months, so I've not played with it yet.

I'd be suprised if VEMS didn't have some sort of switchable tables. MS does have very good nitrous support; something to do with one of the main code developers being very into drag racing...

Hi bill.
ideally all i need is the vems to retard when the controller says so,
we may of cracked it, will keep every one posted.

well that is what ignition retard controls should do. It's about 5 lines of code for single stage NOS.
