Hi all, dont laugh yet, has anyone used these electric supercharger things, and do they work, they seem to work with injected motors as the ecu can adjust the the fuel amount, :) rich

The fact that the dump valve is on the atmospheric side, not the compressed side should be a clue.

I asked a similar question on the Pontiac Fiero forum about a year ago. I got a long answer with calculations to show that the power taken out of the engine to produce the electricity was greater than any extra engine power obtained ! Julian

There is actually an electric supercharger on the market that draws zero energy from the engine and provides fairly significant power gains.

Its a little pricey at £352.48 retail and does require a little ducting to fit neatly in the engine bay.

Heres a link: http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/produ ... -plate-fan

Only real problem is the trailing cable to keep it running,

You could always put a petrol generator in the boot.

I'm developing a new wheel driven superturbo blower charger.

Does anyone remeber the little dynamo's we used to use on our bikes??
The ones that we could click down onto the tyre so they could spin up and generate lectrikery??

This is a really clever idea. You can run the engine NASP with good fuel economy. But when you want the odd quick burst off power, you stop the car, then jump out and engage the patented "ratchet tyre drive mechanism" which can be fitted to front or rear tyres.
The tyre then spools up the superturbo blower charger and gives you the extra power you need.
The only down side is that the roller wheel tends to wear a big groove in your tyre.

I'm also working on a "free turbo air system". You fit an air reciever in the boot. Go to the local garage and fill it with compressed air for free from the tyre top up machine. This is connected to your air inlet. When you want to supercharge your engine you can flip the switch and hey presto!! Another 20bhp for at least 3 seconds...

I dont know how I think these ideas up you know. I frighten myself sometimes.

Or you could always remove the cooling fan from your PC and fit it to the inductioin hose on your EFI car. As soon as you plug it into the fag lighter you will have an electric supercharger...#
