Hi all and merry christmas!
First of all what i have is a standard vitesse engine with fast road cam (from je- australia) 321dizzy set to give 20degrees advance.( tried other settings and they all from 20 to 32 limited the high reving. from 4500 to 5500).
twin plenum through larger diameter afm and a rover tec ecu with adjustment fuel setting. All this gives me 220bhp confirmed on dyno
What i have purchased is a 4.0 tvr with a chipped ECU.
I intend to use the tp but should i use the hot wire system or stick to the flapper? bearing in mind the flapper system runs well to give me 220.
Secondly the fact i have had to utillise 20 degrees of max advance on the dizzy tells me the 3.5 unit is running very efficiently can i expect this from the 4.0?
Simplisticly using the existing set up on an engine with extra 0.5 capacity and 0.5 compression caould i expect another 20 - 40bhp.
Shaun.

I don't know if your flapper will run on a 4.0 as the fueling could be well off. I wouldn't even be too bothered about keeping the TP either as all its doing for you is looks. Your well shy of what a standard hotwire can cope with. The TP injectors are also low impedance so not sure how they will sit with hotwire although the resistor packs might well take care of that. If you need to change your injectors your a bit stuffed on the TP because the fitment is different to the common injectors you can buy now. Basically I would leave the complete TVR system on and you know it works with that engine.
