im thinking of converting my dizzy on my Rover V8 3.9 to a ford EDIS so i can replace the crappy ECU for a fully programable one

i understand that the EDIS is a wasted spark system and was woundering if i use my multi spark MSD with the EDIS it will not work properly or if there will be some conflict with the two

should i need to worry, or will it not effect it what so ever????

many thanks

I dont think it will work. MSD needs a dizzy for timing assuming its a 6al or something like that. In theory you dont need multi spark anyway when you have wasted spark as you should get a fatter spark anyway. Some would argue multi spark a waste of time anyway. Personally I would say junk the dizzy and go for edis or depending on your chosen ecu you dont even need the edis as they can control the coils directly in either wasted spark or COP, COP needing a cam sensor as well.

MSD (aka My Spark Died / My Spark Disappeared) such as the 6al is for a dizzy based system. The multiple spark feature gets turned off above a certain (pretty low) rpm anyway.

EDIS gives a healthy spark under all conditions, the coil packs are cheap and easy to score from any 90's ford. The modules are available from the usual vendors or as said fire them directly from your choice of ecu.
