At a guess,
230 to 260 real bhp
250 to 290 US bhp
330 to 370 TVR BHP
and well over 350 -400 in the pub depending how many pints you have had :D

I would be thinking more towards 260 than 230 with that spec....

The standard 4.6 in a Range Rover was 225bhp.

a 4.6 in a westie should keep you entertained for quite a while!
Just drive it for a while before you take it out in the rain. And gear it nice and high or you will never get it moveng in first.

The cam is the real weak point in your setup.

It's a lightweight car with a good carb, good heads and excellent compression ratio. A wilder cam would have seen you on the 300bhp mark with almost no noticeable low speed issues.....but anyhow who drives a westie at 'low' speed ?

A little harsh,
TVR Claim 320 for the 5.0 and I have seen a few on the rollers at 290 - 300 and these was std cars.
My 400SE std at the time and 15 years old was 240 on a RR. 265 TVR figures.

so they do some turning work on the cars, its not just put in a std lump and lie.

I not a complete FAN boy and know they have some faults and do have slightly high claims but its normanly only about 10%

You knew you would get at least 1 bite.

TVR claimed 340bhp for the 5 litre Griffths. I've never seen a standard one beat 300bhp.

I'm not starting an arguement before you get all angsty, because I bloody love TVRs and want to own one, but their power figures are well known and well proven to be utter shite for the majority of cases, in relation to the Rover V8 especially.
