Clutch Drag

Will be having the engine and box out soon to swap in the new 4.35 engine and it would seem a good time to check this minor problem.

Once the car is warmed up there seems to be some drag in the clutch, the clutch still bites in the correct pedal position so wonder what could be causing it, you have to push the pedal to the floor to get a completely clean gearchange.

Clutch is SD1 and has only done about 1000 miles,

Kevin.

Just a though but Scims use a plastic pipe to go to the clutch slave. This is known to get hot and slightly soft allowing it to expand a little giving the same symptoms as you. Ignore if your using braided or similar.

Marki,
Yes braided hose wrapped in heat insulation material as it's quite near the exhaust and we melted the first one.
