Depends on the application. Standard flywheels are around 30lb I think, you can lighten standard flywheels (but it ain't really recommended for high output applications), then there are various steel and aluminium flywheels that are available.

Personally, buy the best you can afford. I managed to get a superlight aluminium flywheel and AP twin plate clutch for less than half the cost new, and both of them together weigh less than a lightened RV8 flywheel, result! Lighter flywheels mean better throttle response adn pickup.

SO, yes your flywheel should be ok, I'd be more worried about that PG1 gearbox of yours. I'll put my mortgage on that going bang first before anything else :)

lol i hope it dont, PG1's are coupled to KV6's and 2.0turbo engines, and normal K4's in elises/mgf's and freelanders so they must take a fair beating.

tho i know not to under estimate the destructive force of V8's as my friend has a display of gearbox shafts and teeth out of LT77 box from his series landrover,

tho im hopping i wont have the same problems as its a much lighter car, like half the weight!

if i get really bolloxed an blow up boxes then i will have to forget the V8 and go with a KV6 but that would be really gay.........

dont see why it should be a rpbolem as im only lookign at 20-30 foot pounds more than a KV6? and KV6+PG1 has been done loads of times.
