The Holley 390CFM is the most popular Holley for the RV8.
Both Holley and Webber carburettors from my understanding can be very difficult to set up initially, and then require constant regular maintenance in order to keep them that way.
It is my understanding that the Edlebrock performer is an excellent manifold.
As for which is better? Personally, on a standard engine, I would use the standard Rover manifold and a pair of SU HIF6 carbs. More engine torque and much better fuel economy.

Paul,
The Edelbrock is much easier to set up than the holley and just needs a change of rods and jets on the primaries on a standard 3.5 or it will run far too rich which will effect economy.
If you are limited in underbonnet height you can get a Mr. Gasket 14" x 2" drop base filter which drops the filter height by 1.5"
The jets you need are 1421 and the rods (needles) are 1441
