Accel super coil

Hi...does anyone know if an Accel super coil(the big yellow thing) is ok to run with a standard Lucas limb distibutor?
I have read somewhere that accel reccomened between 8-10v for the supercoil,so would the dizzy be happy with this?
I do have a mallory dual point,but from what i've read on here its view as downgradings rather than upgradings?
