Stuttering over bumps.

Since I've done the gaskets I've noticed the car seems to momentarily 'die' going over heavyish bumps in the road. It's more than a missfire, if you know what I mean, but it's over as soon as it begins. WTF could cause that then?

Also it stutters under full throttle, but only sometimes. Which could be related to the bump thing.

It's an early flapper efi

Ta in advance.

Loose wiring connection around the ignition or Efi system or something shorting to earth thro' worn insulation, probably disturbed during your maintenance session.

As per Ramon. Mate had the exact same thing, told him it seemed like a short from the indications but he took everything apart & tested this that and the other. Eventually he found, a short...

While it's poss a component could be bust but functioning normally until jogged, wiring's got to be most likely really. And if every component functions normally except when bumped, it's not very likely anything will be revealed by testing it, since only the 'bump' condition brings about the failure state.

One of the problems of asking the same question at the same time on two different forums is that some of the answers may be duplicated and the status of the problem is not always passed back to the contributors elsewhere and vice versa.

Am I alone in thinking this tends to cause wasted/fragmented advice as the source/cause of the problem emerges.

Thanks for your replies so far chaps, much apreciated. Haven't had time to investigate much over the last week what with work & Xmas. I use the car every day so I've been trying to establish a common 'circumstance' where the miss occurs.
It doesn't stutter over bumps when it's warm & the full throttle miss seems to be random but often. As I said on PH I'm going to make sure I've got a good seal with the intake & test a few things over the festive break so wish me luck.

Thanks again & have a good Xmas
Regards
Wyn

Sorted :)
Had it idling & started wiggling & flicking various wires. Turned out to be a wire attached to the back of the head near side. Must be some sort of earth. The nut was done up tight but the ring connector was loose, packed it out with a couple of washers & problem solved

Thanks for your suggestions chaps. Happy new year to you all.
