Ordering engine parts

I will shortly be ordering the bits to rebuild my 3.5, the bottom end was purchased secondhand (I wanted a "seasoned" block) and I have had the crank polished - a regrind was not deemed necessary by the machine shop. What is the best way of checking sizes, eg I dont want to order normal bearings and rings only to find I need oversize items? Is it simply a case of measuring what I have and comparing them with the original tolerances? On another note, do you guys recommend ARP items even on standard / mild rebuilds? Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Arp mains studs are always a good idea on the rover, heads studs prob not quite so urgent on your engine.

Ask the machine shop as they must have measured it but yes you measure the journals, compare them with the manual and get bearings to match.
ARP studs are always advisable.
