Hello, what is the best manifold for a rover v8 with a 4 barrel carb? I have the offy type but been told its not all that good. Its being used with a holley. Has anyone any opinions? Also is it worth using a single plane manifold over a duel plane?
Thanks.

Single plane not good for the street, good for higher engine speeds though like on a strip car.
Don't think there's anything too much 'wrong' with the Offy as such, just seemed maybe a little cruder than the Edelebrock.

im using an edelbrock performance inlet mani with the edelbrock 500cfm 4 barrel.

Works a treat!!

i did get it port matchied to the heads which was a bonus.

I have the same. A dual plane Edelbrock performer manifold plus Weber 500cfm carb. Looks good too.

The Edelbrock is a good one to go for but be aware that the ports will only match up to a standard head. If you head has been gas flowed you should open up the runners in the edelbrock where they meet the heads.

The ali is quite soft so this can be done with a dremel and hand files, it still takes a while though!

In fact I found that the edelbrock does not even match up to the standard ports very well, there can be a step of 3-4mm on some ports.

I bet all the other manifolds are just as bad though.
