crank case, and other breathers

well i understand why crank case and other breathers were fitted to an engine, so the gasses wherent just lost into the atmosphere, so making it more envorimentily friendly.....

..... but what sort of effect do these wasted/crappy gasses do to your engines performance????? im sure trying to burn, already burnt gas is going to be harder than using fresh gasses from the air!!!!!

so what are the chances of getting rid of these breathers?????

oh and also there are diffent ones going to different parts of the inlet system... what are they all and what uses are they in tended for????
