Does anyone know the bore measurements if i wanted to take a 3.5 out to a 5.0 or 5.2???
Got a spare block laying around and was toying with the idea..

5.2 is not going to happen on a 3.5 as there isnt enough material for the larger liners. Many would advise against even going to the 3.9 bore size on this block but my engine and a few others are done that way. Its also not just bore size but a combination of bore size and stroke so being none standard there can be different combination depending on the tuning shop. 5.0 can be done on standard 3.9,4.0,4.6 bore but is also done on a 96mm bore and I think 5.2 can only be done in 96mm. Best bet is get a junk 4.6 block as per the other thread it looks like you have read.

Yup i suspected as much.
I have a 3.9 in my SD1 already and was thinking of what to do with the 2 spare 3.5 blocks i have.
The only other option would be to turbo or super chaarge one.
Other than that, they aint worth a lot over here so it could be some $cash$ for scrap metal

If you went really good heads and a mechanical roller cam and a bottom end brace you could probably see very good power off a 3.5 block (especially if you went for a long throw crank). has anyone tried the reel steel heads on a longthrow crank 3.5 yet?

haven't heard of anyone trying the real steel heads period. A few have bought them but I haven't heard the results.

Mine are currently sitting on the cleanest, most protected shelf in the workshop, awaiting the day I make a decision what block/crank/piston/rod combination I build for my TR8.......
Option 1 is a re-linered 3.9 block, ARP studs, 4.3 stroker kit (that's kicking around somewhere!) and a Piper BP300 mechanical cam.
Option 2 is a re-linered 4.0 block, std crank etc and BP300.
Option 3 is 4.6, but I want it to rev so that might not be the best bore/stroke ratio......
When I do finally use them, the results will be posted.
