Guys, I've got a rover 3.5 running the flapper injection system (I think) in a hilux & I'm just staring work on it, got it turning over, oil pressure, fuel & spark but she is poping throught the AFM & exhaust, so this tells me that the firing order is incorrect and also the timing is probably going to be out aswell!!
So, what should the firing order and ignition timing be? Also which cylinder do you class as No.1??
is it:
Bulkhead
4-----5
3-----6
2-----7
1-----8
RAD
--------------
or:
Bulkhead
4-----8
3-----7
2-----6
1-----5
RAD
or am I totaly wrong????
Cheers

Just out of interest is it not cast ont he inlet manifold anymore, it used to be next to the thermostat housing and the numbers cast on the inlets. Or am I thinking a compleatly different engine?

Mmmmm, I know they do it on the american V8's but I couldn't see any markings on mine......... possibly due to the amount of gunge on the block!!!! this thing has been previously used as a mud plugging beast & the thing & hasnever had a clean in it's life
