Im looking to buy cylinder heads for my 3.9 based 4.6. As i want to use composite gaskets while maintaining around 10:1 compression, will i be able to skim 3.9 heads, or would that require removing too much material from the heads?

you can use 3.9 heads ok, thats exactly what LR did on the first of the comp gasket engines.
