Hi all, im a new member and really need some advice?

I bought yella terra roller rockers from the states earlier this year and have just got round to fitting them, this is turning out to be a major headache. they come with 24 thin washers which dont fit on a rover shaft anyway and according to the instructions if they were placed where they show i would need 48 washers! Has anyone had experience of fitting these?
Serves me right for buying on impulse I guess!

Not that good with technology, would be easier to sort the Terras than put a photo on here!

Took your advice and I think ive sorted the fitting of the washers (light file and wire brush cup round the inside of them and they slide on much easier now) Guess I will just have to buy another 24 washers thats all.[/img]

Where did you get them from? if you don't mind me asking?

Also how much do you end up paying after import duty, shipping etc?

Finally do they fit underneath the Sd1 rocker boxes?

I'm after a set of these too. I looked at importing from Oz directly, but the savings at the time were minimal. Maybe that's changed given the current exchange rates?

I am going to use some Kenne Bell rockers that I bought as part of a job lot, I have used stock ally rockers for over 5 years and never had a problem untill this year, I had 4 fail after my cam chain problem and not rocker arm related, these were on the 7k rev limit on a regular basis, and did see 8250 once
The main reason for using the MUCH HEAVIER KB rockers is the ease if adjustment with my mech cam, far easier and accurate than adjustable pushrods, I have also modified a old SPQR tappet adjuster to fit the KBs so it should be a doddle.
Another thing that has surprised me is the KB rockers fit under stock P5 rocker covers

They are YT6000 rockers, I bought them from a company called Internal Engine Parts they have depots accross the southern US. They were 545 US dollars inc shipping and import duty and VAT came to £63.00.

I was in contact with a guy called Don Ausband (dausband@internalengineparts.com) he was really helpful.

They were supplied with 24 shims missing, but an e-mail to yella terra had them in the post FOC straight away, they were also very helpful.

If you do buy and fit them be careful with spring installed height, and valve guide to retainer clearence. My heads have gone back to have the inner spring platform machined more. Ive got a crane 248 cam which is fairly high, but not radical lift and on the dummy build the inner spring had coil bind and bent a new set of HD pushrods!

As far as rocker cover clearence goes, they are close using a cork gasket with no baffles in the covers. I think the later rubber gaskets, maybe even doubled up will give adequate clearence, but I cant confirm this til the heads come back and I finish fitting them.

I run Yella Terra roller rockers on my 4.6. They came with a two-piece shaft supplied by YT along with pedestals. The only problem I've had is breaking one of the shafts at high revs near one end where it overhangs the pedestal. The fix was to machine up four triangular shaped support brackets and attach them to the ends with allen key screws into the end of the rocker shaft and down into the head. No more shaft flexing or breakages to date.
