I have just seen an advertisement for US manufactured lifters to suit SBC (so RV8 as well) which allow direct pressured oiling of the cam lobes.They have a 22 thou hole in the base burnt in by laser to allow oil to bleed under pressure from the lifter.I am thinking of giving them a go on my new 4.6 build to try and avoid lobe wear.Any thoughts?

Dont Rhodes lifters bleed down thru a small hole in the foot of the lifter,

There are quite a few of this type lifter available from the states. Some have the hole in the center of the lifter face and some interestingly have the hole slightly off center, presumably in order that oil is distributed more evenly as the lifter rotates in its bore. I have ordered Crower solid lifters with the offset hole from summit for my rover race engine. They should allow me to run higher spring pressure than a regular solid lifter. If I ever finish building the damn thing i'll let you know how they perform.
