wiring probs,help needed

Post by Beastmaster »

Hi all, been trying to get this engine of mine wired using manuals and the sticky..but im having probs

1 i have a bunch of 6 wires that go to the coil(area) blue/red/white&green
white & black,white & black with a "suppresor"? and a double white & black with a suppressor

Image

2 regarding sticky info, i have a brown plug (cabin side) with two large brown wires, two purple & white wires of unequal guage, and a green & white Image
should these be connected and if so to what, also i have no white only wire (IGN feed?)
Lastly wtf is this plug?

Your thoughts would be most welcome as i am pulling out what little hair i have left

What is that loom off? I've never seen one like that.

The only colours that I can be definite on are:
white / black = coil -ve
white = ign +12V

Chris.

It look like a rover loom but not sd1.

the single white/black is ign neg and the two W/B wires on the lucar connector have a 6.8k ohm trigger resistor (or tune resistor if hotwire) inserted, the other end of which goes to pin 1 of the ECU - if its a Flapper.

the wire to the ecu seems to be missing unless its the one folded back on the loom??.

one of those w/b wires goes to the tacho and the other feeds the cruise control overspeed relay.

The white and red wire on the lucar connector go to coil pos but I dont know what the red wire does.

The other resistor plugged into that lucar connector is not familiar and I suspect it is a rogue item. - unless someone knows different

If so then the connector goes to coil pos.

I got most of these clues from the circuit diagrams here

sorry guys the loom/engine is 95 disco 3.9 hot wire
looking at the sticky diagram the missing white wire comes from the ign switch to the main plug(12) i am assuming that is the brown connector in the picture but the wire colours dont match up,also the wire colours on the relays are different
anyone got a haynes manual and can post up the wiring diag,s would be most appreciated, also the picture for the eec pin numbers as there are no numbers on my eec or loom plug

Hi,
Can you send me this details please?
They'll come in handy when I start wiring the RRC hotwire in my 110.
Regards,
Arne
