Hi, my name is Frank, I'm new to the forum and I have a question for the specialists.

A V8 came to me the other day. Not a car, but a little engine...and it wasn't even complete. But it had some great features.
There was a new camshaft in it. The catch is, I have no idea what kind it is.

The engine is a 4.2 that was made by/for an RRC.

I compared it with other camshafts from the collection:
From left to right:
# JE101
# Unknown from the 4.2
# Unknown from my collection
# Viper Stump Puller
# Viper Hurricane

The unknown shaft has a 10.88mm valve lift. Exactly the same as the second unknown shaft from my collection.

One is labeled like this

Someone has ground the identification off the other one

Does anyone know this camshaft?

Greetings
Frank

Measuring the lift and degrees will give you an idea of the specs and intended engine. I have listed most of the factory cams in my post on 4.2 cams further down the page, there are others also if you do a search.

Thanks,
I took a look at it. Unfortunately, the valve lift isn't included.
I'll try to measure the timing. It seems to me that there is no standard specification as to which cam or valve lift they are specified for.
Does anyone have any information on this?

Regards
Frank

I believe that most factory rover cams have the same valve lift so you need to find the valve timing to identify the cam.
