Casting flash in an Edelbrock 500 carb

Compared to the 50 plus year old 1¾" SU carbs it's replacing, the finish on the internals is pretty agricultural.
It won't take long, the top of the carb is off anyway and my time is free but is it worth filing the lumps and ridges away? (and yes, I'd take great care not to alter the overall contours of anything).
It's a new carb, yet to be installed so I don't have to worry if this might alter the calibration because that'll need doing anyway once the engine's up and running.
This is the secondaries, the primaries are similar.

I think I'd leave well alone, be surprised if that would improve performance at all and if I were that concerned about what little it may give I'd not have a carb' on it in the first place.

I agree, a proper efi setup beats a carb but for me it's about making the best of what I'm going to use rather than picking what'd give the best performance. (I'm not going to get into a carb .v. efi pro's & cons discussion but suffice to say getting stranded before with unfixable efi breakdowns has put me off for life)

Not trying to start a car'b v EFi debate but you asked for opinions on wheter to fettle your carb' and I gave you mine. I didn't even mention EFi just that there are better ways to achieve perfomance than de-flashing castings but if it makes you feel good to do so then go for it.
