The front cover arrived back from the vapour blaster with a bag of bits.

Thanks to Turner engineering who supplied a new piston for the oil pressure relief valve.

The oil pressure by pass valve has a hollow cylinder within the spring but what I don't know is should the relief valve have one too?

RAVE makes no mention of the insert. It specifically shows the piston, spring, end-cap and o-ring.

my workshop manual and parts book makes no mention of the cylinder in either so I'm always a bit suspicious. It's a peculiar area with some vehicles having both and some, presumably without an oil cooler, only having the by pass valve with the other capped off.
