Sd1 timing cover on late 3.9 serpintine engine

Can I fit a sd1 timing cover onto a late serpentine 3.9 intermidiate discovery engine

I fitted one onto a 4.6 lump,
So I can't see any reason why not !

Yes, provided you use a sump and oil pickup from a 3.9 or sd1 engine then it will work. The sump on later 4.6/4.0 crossbolted engines are different at the front end (an extra bolt) and have a different oil pick up arrangement.

You might need a spacer as the crank may be longer.
