I am fitting my Westfield with an LT77 box but the recon gearbox I have didnt come with any speedo drive gear which isnt a problem because the Westfield uses a transducer, but I need to block the hole up to stop the oil running out.Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks,Nick.

Simple, a turned ally bung, pushed into the recess and retained with the original cable clamp. you can take out the drive as well if you want

also try cutting a groove to retain an O ring to stop oil leaking out, that or a good ring of sealer round it

I used an ally disc cut to size, and held in place with a simple clamp. Used a generous amount of sealant too. Does the job.

Can you not just leave the original unit in place?

I have the same problem and just thought of wacking a bit of sikaflex around inside the unit then easing it back in and tightening up the securing thingy
