Hi all

Now have an RV8 for my Stag, engine number indicates 1967 - 1976 and is suffix A (10.5:1 CR). Need a short oil filter, existing as fitted is Unipart GFE2, which is short but it's in a sorry state, so will be replacing before start-up.

The internet suggests that the Mann W914/2 is compatible with Unipart GFE2, has anyone else used the Mann filter?

I have just had the same issue on my Triumph 2500 with rover V8. The best one to go for is Halfords HOF 318. Its much shorter for better fitment in tight spaces and is also wider than the original so holds roughly the same volume of oil. I gave the part number to Europarts and ordered another 3 made by Mann. Cheap enough. Good luck. Asam

Just be mindful that the early engines had a different thread to all the later ones.

Mine is a p5b 10/5/1 engine too. Thread size is 13/16 or m20. The filter I have suggested is perfect. The full size filter will not fit as the cross member is in the way. I have stag mountings welded onto chassis.

Thanks Asam

Was that Europarts or Eurocarparts? Could you please post the Europarts/Eurocarparts part number for the Mann filter. Nearest Halfords is a trek for me,

Hi, Quick update. The Mann filter that is supposed to be the equivelant to the Halfrauds one is the W920/11. The filter is at least 1/2" longer than the Halfrauds one. That makes a bit of a difference so I will stick to the Halfrauds one.
