Ok, I stripped my dizzy yestarday to see what condition it was in, and to my surprise it looks like new!
Any way, I removed the vac advance unit and it's well rodgered. I can's make the actuator arm move at all, even by pushing/pulling it by hand!!
When I dribble oil in one side of the unit and blow down the tube, oil comes out the other side of where the diaphragm should be, so I assume it's perished and the actuator has rusted into place?

Exactly how much difference will replacing the unit make? in terms of power / economy? As I completely refuse to be ripped off by certain parts suppliers for as much as £65 for one!!!

Does anyone make a pattern part one? (or does anyone have a spare lying around they could let go?) It's for a 35DM8 dizzy.

Cheers y'all.

economy will suffer if you dont have the vac advance on it.

I might have one at home but im not currently at home. I will be at home this weekend probably so if no one else comes up with one I shall look for you. No idea what condition it will be in though. It off my knackered distributor that I replaced with a mallory and its currently buried in the rubble foundations of the patio that is yet to be concreted over. It will have been there for over 2 years so dont get your hopes up, may be knackered
