Having spent an age wiring my ecu , Im now having problems with the fuel pump supply ( white and purple wire- I think) There does'nt seem to be any power getting to the fuel pump, is there anyway I can test the ecu and fuel pump relay, pretty sure the wiring is all correct.

Also on the wiring diagram it shows a capacitor wired between the coil and earth is this something that I need

Any help always appreciated :D

cheers

Presuming it to be a 14CUX the power only works for 3 seconds when you turn it on - and then picks up a feed from the disributor - engine runs and the relay kicks in again - stall it and in 3 seconds the circuit cuts. - A but of a bugger to test unless you have a helper to turn the key when you hold the meter

you could test it with a bulb and a mirror and some blue tack, blue-tack the mirror to the wing so you can see the bulb from the pasanger seat.
though with the price of multimeters these days it is probably cheeper than the bulb!! 8)
