Has.anyone run a zf4hp24 without an ecu or another box?

I want to run without the ecu and just use paddle shifters to operate the ds. You can use R N and D (in third) without 12v power.

I'm trying to find out about line pressures and the lock up function on the 3rd solenoid. I've come up with a solution to run the box as a sequential box with paddle shifters but need to understand the effect of line pressures and why I'd need to run the solenoid with a pwm signal.

Also, jag used them, as far as I can discover the cases are all the same, just bell housing and tails hafts are different. Would anybody know if the input shafts are the same length too? Can I use. P38 bell housing and convertor or do I need to use a p38 box with 2wd tail housing?

I believe all the input shafts are the same, and the differences between engines and bellhousings are accommodated with the torque converter, flex plate and ring gear assembly.

Does anyone know the solenoid sequencing on the zf4HP24 gearbox?
I'm going to run the box with a PLC and have it fully sequential using the TOSS signal to lock up the torque converter as well and for the speed.

I just need to figure out how the solenoids operate to give you which specific gear. Once I got it working I'll post a how to thread up ;)

MegaSquirt do an auto gearbox ECU, and although the 4HP isn't directly covered, you may find some useful info on their forum.

Indeed - should be easy enough to get megasquirt to do it.
