Hi
Can anyone recommend a retailer who sells a good quality 20w50?
Local factors have a take it please it approach and the Coma site does not say how much ZDDP it has
So I am reluctant to but their approach.
Probably prefer mineral of good quality, as oil is cheap compared to engine rebuild!
Cheers

Hi Ian
Dont laugh but I have used Halfrauds classic oil in the past and it seems to be a good quality oil.
I also use a Castrol oil of 20/50 and that is good too.
Unfortunately my supplier for the Castrol has gone bust but you should be able to find it without too much trouble I would have thought.
Cheers

Cheers Paul
Strange but trying to get 20w50 around here is like finding rocking horse sh1t
Found some Comma but heard it is not good quality
In the past I tended to use Castrol Classic Mineral oil
That does not appear to exist any more either!
Reluctant to spend a fortune on fully synthetic as it only does 2000 miles between changes and let's face it these engines were developed around Dynosaur Juice
Halfords said not available on their own stuff
So who what where or even the interweb?
Cheers

If I can I will shoot down to the local halfords tomorrow morning on my way to work and see if they have any.
If they do do you want me to pick you some up?

Thanks for the offer but if it is available they need to get some up here and I will pick it up locally.
I will call a bigger center and hopefully get someone who knows their job (fat chance around here as the only seem to know push bikes now)
Even Millers is no longer available at 3 local factors!
Perhaps a drive to thePod and pick some up there!

Ok mate
No problem but the offer is open ended if required.
I am away on my work travels again next week but am home after a week and then off again but Halfords is literally just down the road so would not be an issue for me at all

If you're after something very specific, then it'll need to be a motorsport or engine type shop. Or no doubt Millers do something
Or there's always Opie who has a vast range.

Mobile 1 15W 50 has 1300 ZDDP.

Personally I would use a good quality oil and change it less often than a cheap oil and change it every 2000 miles.

Euro car parts have stopped stocking Valvoline VR1 but if you have a local SC Motor Factor SCMF they stock it for a good price

I'm not surprised with ECP. Their website makes it very difficult to find anything which doesn't tie into your car reg number, etc. And it doesn't recognise the number of my SD1. So for generic things like anti-freeze, oil, batteries etc, they must loose a lot of sales.

I have my own trade log on to ECP and its still shite

I seldom use it anymore they have good stocks but the staff are useless at times and its drivers end up getting it in the neck I am not guilty of this fortunately
