Guys, I'm needing 2no M12x1.25 lambda sensor bosses in 304 or 316 grade stainless. Plenty out there in mild steel or M18 in st/st[!] Can anyone recommend a good reliable supplier? Thank you...

Thanks Ged, even thinking of getting some 20-22mm rod off-cut and making them myself, can't believe they're not readily available off the shelf.
They are for standard M12x1.25 thread pitch TVR Chimaera/RV8 lambda sensors. Will ping dimensions to you when next in garage.
Anyone else know of a supplier where they're sat on the shelf waiting to be bought?

Very unusual thread.
Buy a couple of nuts and tap them out to that thread

Not at all unusual, these are the thread sizes for standard Chimaera/RV8 NTK/NGK sensors. European orientated sensor sizes are M18 and it appears most other modern sensors have followed the M18 route.
I prefer to tap a correct piece of shouldered st/st rod rather than run the risk of galling the sensor thread. Will keep on with the search...

Guys,
As an update I've been able to get correct st/st RV8/Chimaera bosses from Racetech Direct near Henley. They're a little pricey at £9 each, but they'll arrive ready to weld without any faffing around. Should anyone else need these Racetech can be contacted on 01491.629219. Talk to Mark, who's been extremely helpful...
...though he did say no one has ever asked for M12x1.25 before which is odd as they sell many Chimaera/RV8 OEM probes of this size.

Clearly not

I too thought this was a bit steep as M18's are £6-£7 each but they'll be on my door step today or Monday.

You can buy SS M18 bosses on Ebay for £2.50 inc postage.

Very true, but M18's no bloody use whatsoever + one has to be very careful as to the term 'stainless steel' from some fleabay suppliers. Unless genuine BS/EN grade 304 or 316 it'll rust just like cheap steel.

Says 304 in the ad. But looks a bit shorter than mine.

Just like buses, waiting for ages...no bus, then five come along at the same time; thought it good to share should anyone need sensors and bosses...

Hi v8250
It's entirely your choice where you buy from but I'd had the information requested you would have had them for £10.00 total including P&P on your doorstep yesterday.
Its not a problem, maybe I can help you in the future.
Best regards
Ged

Thanks Ged, that's very kind of you. What other components do you make? It's always handy to know a source when an odd part is req'd. Rgds, Andrew
