Can you identify my water pump type?

I don't know a great deal about RV8's and I'm about to try and replace my pulley set as the crank pulley is too small which under drives my water pump and my alternator - I was told they are racing pulleys. Hence the gearing down.

Currently I have a 1.5:1 ratio on my alternator - meaning it's only doing 1350 when the engine is idling at around 900k. My alternator, even when energised doesn't put much into my battery at tickover - it only climbs to 14 volts at around 2000 rpm plus. This means I'm running flat most of the time and get misfires under load.

My water pump is 0.7:1 ratio at the moment, which shoudl be mroe like 1:1. My car runs hot..

Anyhow I wonder if you could tell me anything I need to know anout sourcing pulleys - my main concern is that the all line up! I gather there are several variants of the water pump so here is mine for any identification.

My pulley diameters currently are:

Alt 75 (has a 15mm shaft with a keyway)
Water 145
Crank 108

I have all teh other dims too if needed.

Really I'm looking for guidance on getting new ones.

Presuming it's a 'car' type timing cover rather than a '4x4' one (need more engine in the picture to be sure), I would go for an SD1 pump as that thread is for a viscous fan I believe.

Ahh, I believe it's an SD1 engine - good to know. As it's in a Westfield I can't make any assumptions about parts as they can be a mix and match to fit in the engine bay.

Hi,
'Normal' Westfield setup is either rover p6 pump and crank pulley which is single V belt and would mean changes to you alternator. P6 pump will fit straight on that front cover if it's an sd1.
Or
Serpentine front cover, pump and crank pulley. The right serpentine covers are becoming very expensive now though.

Cheers for all the info. So for the standard Westie setup I'd have to replace my water pump with a P6 one, then get the P6 pump pulley, and the P6 crank pulley?

I'm also now considering having a larger diameter copy of my ally crank pulley made if anyone knows a fabricator / turner than can quote? Might be the simplest solution.

Westfield - yes for the older ones. Newer ones used the serpentine front end.

Nice being able to have a bigger crank pulley and keep all the others the same!
