Just out of interest really - how expensive are NOX refills? how much would it cost say to fill a 11lb bottle?

depending on the price of gas,
it varies from £5 per lb to £6.25 per lb
the place i get mine from has just gone up to £5.25 per lb so will now cost me just short of £58 for a full bottle from empty.

... was also going to be my next question too!

the answer to that is how longs a piece of string :?: :?:
depends on bhp of gas being used,
if hard hit or progressive,
how long its on for etc etc etc
i think i get around 14-20 runs out of a bottle, (75 bhp)
never did a full season last year on 100bhp so not sure how long it lasts on the 100bhp jets,

i have the 150bhp jets to fire in somewhen too,
if anything like me, when i first fitted the kit i was doing nearly 2 bottles a week for the first few weeks  :o

Buy a bulk bottle from Nitrous oxide supplies and fill your own.
It works out about half price.
I just changed mine yesterday for a full 80lb bottle, and with the rebate on the bottle rental as I used it so quick, it works out at £3.06 per pound for this refill.
So, 11lbs at Real steel £63.00 inc vat and my 10% discount.
Fill at home = 11lbs for £33.66

No contest!!!

Filling at home is easy too.

you pump fill or gravity?
as to get optimum fill pump is best, but then theres the extra charge of buying a pump and compressor.

You dont need to buy an expensive pump mate.
If the little bottle is empty, I pull a vacuum on it with my refigeration vac pump. If there is some gas left in the small bottle, as there normally is, I put it in the freezer for an hour to pull the pressure down. I warm the big bottle with a fan heater to 1000psi and then hook up the charging line. I purge the line at the small bottle connection until I get liquid, then open the valves and top up the small bottle.

For instance
Small bottle with 2.5 lbs in it, 1 hour in freezer, big bottle heated to 1000psi, transfer time to fill to 10.5lbs total is around 40 seconds.

If you dont have a vac pump, as most people dont, blow off the residual vapour until it stops, then stick it in the freezer for an hour to chill the small bottle before the transfer.

I have bought a decent set of digital charging scales though. I can stick the part full bottle on them, noting the weight, then zero the scales to ensure I dont overfill the small bottle.

You can find simons info at www.nitrousoxidesupplies.co.uk

You will have to spend about 40 quid on the charging lines, and also buy a gauge so you can check the big bottle pressure. I check the big bottle pressure by connecting it to a spare small bottle with the valve closed, or a blank AN4 fitting and opening the big bottle valve.

I wont ever buy Nitrous from a shop again. Way too expensive.

Or go straight to http://www.nitrousoxidesupplies.co.uk/a ... 0gas.phtml

To order your big bottle.
Hope this helps

I use 180bhp at the moment and i get around 4 runs with the correct bottle temp to give me a true 180 of gas if the bottle temp is not up you are not getting the correct pressure there for not getting the correct bhp for the jet size you have got in. Im hoping to go to 250 jets next month and will be looking at 2 runs or 3 if im lucky.

With my bottle at 850psi and a 150 shot, I use about 2lbs per run.
