Air temperature sensor

I'm looking for an open frame ATS with an 18mm thread. Junior timer connector even better. All the ones I seem to find from MegaSquirt etc dealers are NPT.

Because my housing already has an 18mm thread and the wiring a Junior power timer connector. So one that simply replaces the existing one would be easiest - surely they must exist? Most vehicles other than US ones would have metric threads?SimpleSimon wrote:Hi Davewhy not use an NPT one out of curiosity? I got some ali bosses for this thread from the states for my 2 MS installs
MS can be calibrated for most sensors. The GM curve is simply the default one.Eliot wrote:You can buy the thermistor from RS under part number 151-215 which is the same curve as the GM one used on megasquirt.
Then you can make up any fitting you like with a boss and some epoxy. I used them for measuring my intercooler water temperatures on the megsquirt. In fact they are so small, you can just tuck them into the air pipe.
Yes - that's the sort of thing. Sadly, it doesn't say what thread it fits?
Think so. It's also the size of the CTS in my RV8 - so I sort of assumed it was a standard.bodger wrote:It could be about right going by the connector size ...
Maybe a phone call ?
M18 is lambda bung size isnt it ?

You could say the same about an 02 sensor. Or CTS. The CTS on the flapper and hotwire RV8 is 18mm.stevieturbo wrote:M18 is bloody massive, cant imagine why an air temp would ever be so large.
Even the Cossie M14 is larger than most.
just adapt it down, weld/block up the old hole etc etc
