Weber 45's and Inlet??

Just pondering a carb ungrade before being able to afford weber 500 to replace my SU's. I notice in the Hardcastle book, a 45 attached to a short elbow that mates with an existing Rover inlet. Has anyone any idea where I might acquire this elbow, and/ or does anyone have any experience of this setup with a 45?

think you would have to get it fabricated along with the alterations to the manifold. Save your time and money until you can afford the 500 upgrade unless you just want to be different.

I doubt it offers much gain over a pair of HS6s
Why not try doing some simple mods to the carbs to improve things - SUs respond well to butterfly mods, smoothing and detailing, needle changes and better air filtration (NOT socks).

Thanks. Already done the needles and it has Pipercross filters, so that is done. I can't imagine the restricted air route and lifting of the dashpot piston can perform as well as the direct route of a DCOE, but maybe. I think you may be right as far as saving up goes. At least it will be a direct swap onto my 3.9 when I eventually get round to rebuilding. I just happen to know where I can lay my hands of a few dcoe's so thought it might be a temp option.
