Hi n we'd some help sorting a sump for my fathers 351 windsor conversion. The engines going into a MK4 Zephyr/Zodiac and the current essex has a front sump arrangement, The Econoline 351 has a rear bowl sump, I can source mustang front bowl sumps but will I have to change the front cover or just the pick up as well?

Thanks,

Tom

Just the sump and pick-up, but you'll also need a dip stick and tube for the front sump pan...

The windsor has the oil pump in the sump driven from the distributor so when changing the sump just needs the correct pickup fitted. My last 351 used a Milodon road race sump and pickup with front pan, a nice piece. Probably not so much demand now but the rear pans (vans and 4x4s)used to be sought after and worth good money, the front pans as used in all the passenger cars were common.
