Rover 4.6 help

I am finally getting round to building up my 4.6 - it will have an SD1 timing cover on it and I was intending to use the SD1 sump and dipstick.

Since I am using the earlier timing cover the oil pick-up pipe will also have to be SD1 but this fixes onto one of the main caps and then the windage tray.

I haven't yet got all my bits out of storage so does anyone know if the 4.6 mains caps have the necessary threading to fix the pick-up?

Also I am aware that the windage tray doesn't fit as the throw of the crank is greater so what have people done?

Any and all comments/advice gratefully received :)

Main bearing cap no. 4 does have the fixing for the oil pickup tube.

Windage tray might be fixable with a lump hammer.....

I don't run with a windage tray on my 4.6, I've heard the the 3.5 one ends up so close to the crank that any oil on the tray gets whipped up by the crank which is sort of the opposite of what you want to happen.
