Does anyone know of a supplier of MLS big bore exhaust gaskets for a rover v8?

I use the twin composite ones and they have been fantastic ?
Does anyone do a MLS exhaust gasket for this?

How about getting the faces trued up and running with no gaskets but with a smear of suitable high temp sealer?

Yep!
A few folk I know do this. At least one of them just uses normal white bathroom silicone. If I were going to do this I would use high temp boiler flue joint sealer. I prefer the composite gaskets over the shiny dimpled ones as they will squish down a bit to take up the odd bit of a gap here and there. I do have to admit to being lazy and re using the ones on the car 5 or 6 times without keeping them in the right order

The last time they came off two of them showed very tiny black streaks about 1mm wide where they had seeped a little.

Hi
As a general rule I don't like exhaust gaskets especially on a race engine. Get the faces properly flat then if you think it necessary use a thin wipe of bathroom silicon. I think the key here is get them flat!

Just a point to bear in mind - doesnt silicone kill o2 sensors?

It does. But we are talking about a smear on the faces. Having said that, all the guys I know who use the stuff dont have lambda sensors fitted.

For "mechanical injection" read "Dinosaur fuel delivery"

Would a composite gasket help prevent heat from the exhaust from making it back into the head (especially if using exhaust wrap)?

Hi
yes but most of you have a water jacket to help out with that.
I'm not fussed because my exhaust is about 300c cooler than you petrol heads
best regards
