i have an lt77 from a v8 injected rover sd1 in my escort,

do all lt77's have the same speedo drive on the gearbox?

Early SD1s had a mechanical speedo - later ones electronic. If yours came from a Vitesse, it will be electronic and for a 3.08 rear axle, 15" wheels, and 205/60 tyres.

It must be me, but I still don't understand what you're asking.

There are alternate drives (and internal gears) for different rear axle ratios on both mechanical and electronic types. As far as I know they are all interchangeable, but you do have to use the correct drive gear which is inside the box.

All the RV8 LT77's with a speedo cable are the same fitting at the gearbox end. The electronic speedos don't have a cable, but the trigger unit fits in the same place as, and can be replaced with, a mechanical unit.

I think the 3.08 drive (20 teeth) cable drive is NLA from Rimmer, so you might have to search for a used one.

If it is the gearbox from an 'injection' SD1 (which would be a Vitesse, as the EFI is only auto) then it will have a drive for an electronic, not mechanical, speedo. Unless it has already been changed.
