Zinc coated hubs or something?

Hi, I've got these custom hubs for the MGB but they're a little rusty, nothing a quick sandblast wouldn't sort out before new bearings & I refit them, problem is they'll only go rusty again, is there anything I can do to prevent this? Some kind of zinc coating etc or will that just come off? I'm obviously worried about the bearing surfaces being left as well.

If not no worries not the end of the world!

Get them blasted and powder coated ?

obviously protect any surfaces that you dont want coated.

Zinc/galvanising is an option if you can find somewhere to do it

Paint the exposed areas and lightly grease or spray something temporary on the bearing surfaces.

Powder coating should do it OK. Mask the areas that you don't want done and then a light grease coating to protect the exposed bits afterwards.

If I was to paint it myself what paint should I use?

A decent chassis black will last for ages. Use an acid etch primer first.

Could you recommend a decent spray chassis black, or is it better to use something like brush-on; POR15 etc? Not had any experience with that as yet but I have a lot to do (entire front & rear ends)

Think a chassis black is too thick by nature to be sprayed. You could dip smaller items, I suppose. It's a bit of a dichotomy - finding something that works well as opposed to looking perfect.

Ages since I bought any - it just came from my local car paint supplier.

No worries, I've just found an old thread from a while back where I've had almost exactly the same conversation ...... My memory sucks!

Thanks
