hello all I just joined the site today (21/8/13) I stumbled upon this site when trying to identify my rover V8 engine no 1051cr 48104528B . ive looked on rimmer bothers site but can't find engine number ending in B only A . my plan is to do engine swap on my TR7 . I need to get my hands on a sd1 bellhousing to mate with my LT77 5 speed box but they are rare now days also I need timingcover/water pump housing and pump they are selling pumps on certain auction site . well i will tell the rest later as this is my introduction so best keep it short . :P :P :?:

P6B 3500S (manual) engine, 10.5:1 with a lipseal rear main seal, circa 1973/4 I would guess.

The 10.5:1 CR means it is a very early engine - they were only made until the early '70s. Later heads are rather better. (the pistons set the CR, unless the head has been planed.

well thank you too dave efi :D so as I haven't even started engine strip down I should look out for some SD1 heads ? wont this decrease the comp ratio or increase it :?: don't think the wifes gonna be happy with me spending more on my project car as we both are out of work at mo . and iam maxed out on credit cards . come on lottery let me win so I can build my workshop with ramp and all that's needed . must admit if I had that I wouldn't need a house as I would be content on sleeping/living in there
